Daydream Nation
The story begins with a drama of a different kind. The story began with Caroline Wesler, who moved into a strange society always because of an industrial fire after her father had a new job in that strange region. Along the way, Carolina faces a love triangle between her teacher, Mr. Anderson and her classmate Thorston. At the same time there is a serial killer who may have supernatural powers and a satanic thought.

Daydream Nation is a mess, but a gorgeous mess. Come for the flaccid teen distress, stay for the stunning imagery.May 03, 2011
Sonic Youth should sue.May 05, 2011
A fitfully engaging effort that is most successful as a performance piece for actors Kat Dennings and Reece Thompson.May 06, 2011
While not always comfortable in its quaint, quirky skin, it does deliver some intriguing performances and some inventive directorial turns.May 11, 2011
An alternately heady and queasy portrait of a small town slipping into madness.May 26, 2011
The goodwill that the charming Dennings has built up in earlier films, such as 40-Year-Old Virgin and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, doesn't excuse this role.May 06, 2011
"Daydream Nation" rolls elements of "Juno," "American Beauty," "Donnie Darko" and "Twin Peaks" into a potent blunt.May 09, 2011
Director/writer Mike Goldbach's first half of the film is engaging ..., suspenseful (who is the "man in the white suit?"-with a delectable shade of grey served up red herring style) and masterfully balanced.May 06, 2011
Worth seeking out...May 05, 2011
It's a film about teen angst that's too caught up in its characters' state of mind to see its way through to the other side.May 07, 2011
Goldbach fills the story with too many distractions, but Dennings, known for "Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist," is feline and fun.March 25, 2013
All three leads do a good job and the film is visually appealing. As a director, Goldbach shows promise.
